This year the 17th Festival of Sacred and Religious Music has gone online and will be LIVE on YouTube Live on 13th December 2020 from 6 pm onwards.

Organized by the Pueri Cantores India Federation (PCIF), the festival has been hosted in Bandra for the last 16 years by Cadenza Kantori, an all-Mumbai youth choir that operates out of Bandra.

Each year the festival has a new theme developed and put in action by the young choristers – This year the title of the festival is ‘BE LOVE’, the youngsters having based it on Pope Francis’ encyclical Fratelli Tutti that encourages all to show fraternal love, so relevant in today’s divided and strife-stricken times. The theme has already sparked much activity on social media-based and is leading the participants and their friends to reach out in practical ways to people affected by the pandemic. With the festival in the virtual domain, the German choir that was in Mumbai for the festival last year got involved again this year. And so are other choirs from all over the world, thus bringing together the inter-national family of choirs of the Foederatio Internationalis Pueri Cantores (FIPC) at this event.

Catch up with the ongoing festival via social media (Instagram and Facebook) and get involved in the action.

In addition to choral music, this year will feature singers, musicians, solos and also art & poetry. With choirs, the world over not being able to meet and sing together due to the pandemic, the choirs from Mumbai and other countries have used technology to not only share music & lend their voices and come together in service of others. All the presentations will be released during the festival broadcast in lieu of the popular gala concert of choirs, held every year on the festival evening. You too can get the feel of the new normal of choirs going virtual – A few weeks ago the India Federation team from Bandra was instrumental in publishing a recording of a virtual choir of 150+ singers from India and 10 countries, all members of the International Pueri Cantores Federation!

Choristers and members from different time zones will participate virtually in the live program. The schedule of events & broadcast updates will be published on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. You can join in the event on YouTube Live by clicking on the live link on the PCIF YouTube channel.
