The Mumbai Rink Football League (MRFL), a new and exciting 5-a-side football franchise league kicked-off on 7th May 2023 in Bandra, featuring multiple teams from different areas of the city competing to be the best.
The league is built on the foundation of community rivalries, with teams representing their respective localities adding to the excitement and passion of the league. MRFL aims to provide a platform for talented football players in Mumbai to showcase their skills and compete at a high level. The teams are highly competitive, and the matches are set to be intense and exciting, providing entertainment for football fans across the city.
The Mumbai Rink Football Franchise League is organized by a team of experienced footballing professionals Steven Dias, Godfrey Pereira and Vijith Shetty who have worked tirelessly to bring this exciting competition to the city.
MRFL will have multiple leagues to ensure the representation of different audiences. This will allow the entire demographic of Mumbai to be involved in the sport. The sheer fabric of the league and its sub-division based on regions will ensure participation of the rich demographic dividend of the city and will celebrate local rivalries through franchises and players says Steven Dias, former player of the Indian National Team and league administrator.
