The biggest gift you can give someone is to make them smile and boost their self-worth and self-esteem!
The Little Angels School (LAS) and its various constituents have been doing this for the past 16 years – since 14th June 2002. Managed by the ‘Human Development Centre Trust’, LAS was started with the objective of making each and every student an independent, self-sufficient and self-reliant person, with the appropriate academic knowledge, and the required extra-curricular & vocational skills.
Jehangir Afshari, is the founder and driving force behind LAS, who along with four dedicated and committed individuals, form the managing committee. LAS is powered with a staff strength of 65, that addresses the academic, functional, life enrichment, and vocational training needs of 185 students, from the ages of 4-21 years of age. The course curricula are certified through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) and Open Basic Education (OBE) systems.
Having tutored and trained their students over the past so many years, LAS saw it fit to do some forward integration and give the students a stepping stone to the outside world. A ‘bridge’ that will enable them to seamlessly integrate and face the daily challenges of a work environment.
The logical outcome of this is ‘Little Bridge’ – A Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by a progressive corporate, whose objective is to empower LAS’s students and enhance their quality of life.
The ‘Little Bridge’ store opened on 15th January 2019, offering food & beverages, through an eclectic mix of homemade and branded products that include over-the-counter food items, ready-to-eat snacks and beverages viz. – Chips, Samosas, Pickles, Diet Foods & Snacks, Organic & Dairy Products (Ghee, Honey, Pulses), Mini Meals (Continental & Indian), Sauces (International & Indian), Pastas & Noodles, Confectionaries (Cookies, Cakes, Chocolates), ‘Khakras’, ‘Chikkis’, ‘Laddoos’, Hot & Cold Take-Away Beverages, Seasonal Food Products and many more such sumptuous offerings.
‘Little Bridge’ is actively encouraging local ‘artisans’ by providing them an opportunity to sell their homemade food and beverages products through ‘Little Bridge’. For instance, Parsi food specialities such as ‘Dhansak’, ‘Lagan Nu Achar’, and other such Parsi delicacies will also be available across the counter.
A senior professional and qualified team are managing and operating ‘Little Bridge’. The concept behind ‘Little Bridge’ is that students of LAS will be gainfully employed and get the real world, hands-on training and experience that will empower them, and stand them in good stead throughout their lives.
The vision is to make ‘Little Bridge’ a one of a kind professionally managed store, whose primary social objective is to give a solid base for individuals, driven by a strong desire to commit themselves for a better future.
