On 5th March, Mumbai-based NGO ‘Dulari Amma Foundation’ in collaboration with a well-known fashion Institute in Mumbai ‘Institute of Designing and Fashion Technology’ with the support of ‘Jolly Boys Sarvajanik Ganesh Mandal’ organised a Street Fashion Show: Slum kids walked the ramp at Bandra Reclamation ground, the fashion show was for the children living in the Slum.
This fashion show was a beautiful gesture and memory for these children living in slums, who played the role of models and walked the ramp with designer attire. The aim of this fashion show was to build confidence in those children and to make them feel special. Also, the aim was to make them realize that everyone is born with a golden spoon and it’s not that far away if they try to grab it.
The seed of this fashion show was sowed by Mrs Monica Sinha, Founder & Director of Dulari Amma. IDFT, CEO Sonal Sinha & Co-Founder Tulika Sinha, students of IDFT and all the members of Jolly Boys played an important role in executing it well. The best feature of this fashion show was the costumes of the children walking on the ramp were created, designed & crafted by the students of IDFT which were later given as a token of love to the children walking on the ramp.
This innovative effort of the Dulari Amma Street Fashion Show won the hearts of all present at the event, and it was a great success.
