On the 17th March, more than 200 Montessori teachers, facilitators, trainers, principals, parents, and children gathered at the Carter Road Amphitheatre for a Montessori Walk organised by the RTI Montessori Training Institute and the Mumbai Montessori Community. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as children walked hand in hand with their parents and teachers, proudly displaying the banners and posters they had created. With the gentle sea breeze and morning sun as the backdrop, over 10 Montessori schools from the city came together to celebrate the importance of early childhood education.
The Montessori Walk aimed to shed light on the Montessori way of being, emphasizing the significance of cultivating harmony through education. In our multicultural and diverse society, it is crucial to raise compassionate and empathetic individuals who can contribute positively to our world.
As the walk concluded, the conversations and chatter reflected the collective commitment we have towards our children. Dr. Maria Montessori once said, “Peace is what every human being is craving for, and it can be brought about by humanity through the child.” This quote resonates deeply, as it reminds us that the future lies in the hearts and minds of our children. Through education, we sow the seeds of a brighter and more peaceful tomorrow.
