The Journalist Association of India hosted the 29th JAI Global Awards at a well-attended function at Maharashtra Sadan, in New Delhi, recently. Sunil D’Cruz was presented the Print Journalist of the Year – NRI award, by the Chief Guest, Hon’ble K.G. Balakrishnan, Former Chief Justice of India (centre), Shri H.K. Sethi, Chairman, Journalist Association of India (left) and Shri T.P. Agarwal, Hon’ble Patron, Film Federation of India and IMPPA (right).

Sunil D’Cruz has written on a wide range of topics ranging from social issues, music, tourism and sports, for the Khaleej Times, Dubai, UAE and The Peninsula, Qatar. Since 1994, he has also covered a wide range of events such as Rembrandt in Oman (an exhibition of the original works of the great artist), ‘Rest Upon the Wind’ – An English play on the life and times of Khalil Gibran and ‘Dear Liar’ – An English play adapted from the correspondence of George Bernard Shaw and Mrs. Patrick Stella Campbell, featuring Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah, for the Oman Daily Observer and the Times of Oman, and Ratna Pathak Shah, for the Oman Daily Observer and the Times of Oman.
