Global fusion seems to be the raging trend in the food industry today. However this newly opened The Bhookha Beirdo, travel themed cafe at Pali Mala begs to differ. Started by two fitness & travel enthusiasts, Gitanjali Tandon, the cafe’s has something for everyone from every corner of the world in their true authentic styles. The owners contrasting tastes and lifestyle reflect greatly on the menu. While Gitanjali is a vegetarian, Anurag Rane is a complete ‘carnivore’ as his co-owner likes to call him. From a vegetable paella to a juicy stake, beirdo and weirdo doesn’t leave you disappointed.
We tried the super food salad which lived up to its name. Hidden beneath a warm blanket of carefully blanched lettuce and dil lay a assortment of nuts and quinoa. The bowl of goodness was dressed in a lemony vinegret. After starting our meal on a healthy note, we decided to go for some comfort food and what better than fish and chips. And we have to say it did transport us to the cozy by lanes of Britain. We then went on to try another speciality on the menu, Geet’s Chicken Parma, a grilled chicken dish with a generous lather of a tomato based sauce and vegetables on the side.
Even as the delicious food kept us company, the cozy ambience and the friendly vibe added to the experience. If you are a travel enthusiast and a foodie looking for a new place to hangout, Beirdo and Weirdo might just be the place for you.
